About the Delft Haus

The Delft Haus Bed & Breakfast is a glorious Victorian property, dating back to the 1890s. The original homeowner was a prominent local businessman and employer, who owned a once successful saw mill in Hall’s Harbour. The property remained in the possession of the same family until 1969. Over recent years we have been delighted to meet several family members who have returned to share tales of their happy childhood memories in the home and local community.

This beautiful property began welcoming visitors from around the world some 15 years ago, when an owner, with a wonderful eye for design and detail, set about making a home-from-home for visitors wishing to experience this world-famous tourist destination.

Our Neighborhood

The Bay of Fundy & Annapolis Valley Region of Nova Scotia is home to the highest recorded tides in the world. Twice a day, every day, 160 billion tonnes of seawater flow in and out of the bay – that’s more than the combined flow of all the freshwater rivers on our planet. Take a whale watching cruise in the Bay of Fundy, which sees 15 species of whales come to mate and play. Visit nearby Hall’s Harbour, where the tide can drop the height of a four-storey building, and then walk on the ocean floor.
